This guy sure is a character!

They say that every dog has its own personality, and ours is certainly a character.

When I dropped him off at the overnight kennel the other day, they told me he loves to play with all the other dogs and that he especially likes it when there are female dogs because he likes to flirt!  Apparently, he really likes one named Tara. When I went back to pick him up, they told me he was looking around and waiting for his friend girlfriend(?) Tara, but she hadn't shown up yet. (I hope he at least got her phone number!)

If such a thing as dogmatch.com existed, his profile would say:
I'm a Golden Retriever mix who just recently turned 9 years old. I'm as spry as a pup and seeking an energetic companion between the ages of 4 and 7 who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. I like walks on the beach and biting incoming waves, rawhide treats, howling at sirens, and chasing skateboarders. I prefer Golden Retrievers (mix is also ok), German Shepherds, Siberian Huskies, Labradors, Labradoodles, and Maltipoos; all others need not respond.
He's scared of...well, just about everything (think: balloons and bikes) but especially the vacuum and has been known to chase and dive at it a time or two.  The same day I picked him up from the kennel, I cleaned the house. While I was busy vacuuming, it turns out that instead of hiding like he usually does, he was dragging his blanket around the house!  All I could do was laugh.  This guy sure is a character...and we wouldn't have him any other way!
