This is one of my favorite times of the year.
Though we're not big on Thanksgiving (with 2 consecutive days off, to be honest, we'd rather spend the time travelling)...I still love the "warmth" that is felt during this time of year. In my opinion, between Halloween and Thanksgiving is that magical time when people seem nicer and more caring to each other. (But...once we hit Black Friday, all that seems to go out the window as people get a little crazy the closer it gets to Christmas when they realize they're running out of shopping days.)

Thanks
Regardless of how you know me (in person or only through this blog), one thing you should know about me is that I'm generally not the kind of person who walks around thanking God for everything or who gives thanks for the things in my life on a regular basis. (Don't get me wrong...I'm thankful, but I don't usually say it out loud.) But on Monday this week, something struck me.

Long line for a cooking celeb encounter
The other night, while cruising one of the local outdoor shopping areas, I noticed a sign at the Sur La Table store that Rachel Ray will be making an appearance there soon.
Even before telling my husband about it, I already knew what his answer would be: something along the lines of "NO WAY (are we going)." You see, we'd already had one close encounter with Rachel Ray. The year was 2007, and like most of the rest of thefree world United States, I was crazy for Rachel Ray.

Satisfying lasagna cravings
For the past month or more, I've been craving lasagna. And not just any lasagna -- my homemade lasagna. The kind that tastes the best when it's still steaming out of the oven...when it's so piping hot that you risk burning your mouth.

Have a Smurfy day! ... iPad style
On Dec 24, my husband I will celebrate our 6th anniversary (inshAllah). We usually exchange gifts for our anniversary, and we celebrated in style last year.
This year, my husband and I both had the idea to gift each other an iPad. Instead ofdropping a ton of cash on getting two iPads, we made a deal to buy 1 and share it. (Awww....how cute!)

Indiana Jones exhibit...
A couple of weeks ago, before going to Gary Danko for dinner, my good friend James and I killed some time by playing Lego Indiana Jones on Wii
. The game was cute...though I admit I'm not AS big of a lego fan as James (check out his lego pumpkin for Halloween).
