We're all a little loopy around here right now...

During Ramadan, sometimes when I've been fasting for a long time and when it's getting close to the time of iftar (when I can break my fast and eat again), I sometimes tend to get…a little loopy.

Ok so I may or may not have done a few, um…things after getting home this evening.  But whatever I may or may not have done, I blame it all on my hunger…no, make that my exhaustion…no, make that this loopy feeling I have.

So...in the spirit of honesty while I'm fasting, I want to come clean about a few things I may have allegedly done this evening in my Hyde phase:
  • We sometimes get flyers on our door from local business (cleaning services, repair people, church organizations--you name it).  I believe in free speech (and free religion, in the case of the church organizations), but when it comes to my home, I hate solicitors and solicitation.  So…I may or may not have called one of those businesses and left a pleasant message asking them to please stop leaving flyers at my home.

  • We live on a small street with limited parking spaces.  The parking spaces are on both sides of the street, and each one only fits 1 or 2 cars. (The 1 car spots really require that the driver parallel park.)  For at least the past month or more, 1 specific driver has been driving straight into (not parallel parking) one of the 1 car parking spaces. The parking job is so terrible that the car is usually hanging half out in the street. (My husband and 1 of our neighbors even commented on it!)  So…I may or may not have left a note on the car's windshield nicely asking that neighbor to start parking better.

  • I recently became a member of HiltonHonors (and Gold, no less!).  In the last 2-3 days, someone has called twice from a number I don't recognize, so I haven't picked up either phone call.  I ignored it the 1st time…but the 2nd time I saw it, I got curious and returned the call later. ...And subsequently got a voice mail message belonging to Hilton Grand Vacations.  So…um, yeah.  Not totally digging the phone solicitation.  So I may or may not have left a message on that answering service asking them to remove me from their call list.  I also may or may not have called HiltonHonors and asked them to remove me from that end as well.

They say you shouldn't let your emotions get the better of you.  Which is why I'm pleased to report that, in all three instances, I remained calm and pleasant and didn't get upset or angry with anyone.

...And soon, this loopy feeling I have will wear off, and I'll be back to my super syrupy sweet self (say that 3 times fast)...which is not to say I wasn't super syrupy sweet in all of these...well, alleged instances.  In the meantime, I think I'm going to lay low...just in case.

  2. I was that way too...before I did it a few times. It takes practice (just like anything else)...and patience. And in today's case, being in control of your emotions and not letting them get the best of you. (Though I will admit those flyers on the door bug me all the time.)
