Every now and then, I get in a baking mood. (I call it my "Sadie Sadie, the married lady" role.)
A few months ago, I made loaves and loaves of both pumpkin and zucchini bread. Fall always does that to me -- puts me in the baking mood (especially when it comes to quick breads).
At the time (oh so many months ago), I had recently had the pumpkin bread that they serve at Starbucks, which has pepitas (pumpkin seeds) on the top of it...so last time I tried something similar with mine.
After I made it, I remembered that the slices you get from Starbucks actually have the pepitas all chopped up on the top of the pumpkin bread, so a few weeks later when I found myself making more pumpkin bread loaves, I tried that instead. But I was a bit disappointed to find that while they baked, a lot of the pepitas got sucked further and further into the loaf. I still ended up with quite a few on top, but they were also concentrated down the middle of the loaf too. (Bummer.) Regardless...they were good enough for my amateur purposes!
Lots of times, I bake it just to share it with others, and that's what happened. I ended up with about 8 loaves total from the batch I made in the fall, and it wasn't hard to find homes for them. My supply didn't last long though...and I soon found myself making another 8 loaves (about half size instead of full) around mid-February.
I'm always experimenting with my wrapping techniques for them. Typically, if I'm giving them away the same day just shortly after I've taken them out of the oven, I wrap them in foil like the ones shown here. Other times, I wrap them in plastic wrap + baggie and freeze them so they stay fresher longer.
These days, I'm gearing up for some new quick bread recipes I plan to try!
I usually get my recipes from Allrecipes.com, but lately I've been trying to find stuff on Pinterest (I love the pictures!). The ones I plan to make are:
I'm not going to do them all at once of course. I'll let you know how they turn out!

- Banana Nutella bread (I'm not such a huge fan of banana based foods...but I thought if it has Nutella, it might be ok.)
- Nutella toffee banana bread
- Caramel glazed apple bread
- Pumpkin zucchini bread
- Blueberry zucchini bread
I'm not going to do them all at once of course. I'll let you know how they turn out!
