My husband has lived in the U.S. for over 12 years, and he and I have been married for over 7 years. Over the years, several of his family members have come to visit and stay with us. (Just 2 summers ago, one cousin and his wife stayed with us for 1+ week while they were visiting the U.S.)
And while we've enjoyed showing visitors the San Francisco Bay Area sights and having them stay in our home, one thing was always missing: a visit from someone in my husband's immediate family.
Even though there was always a desire (on both sides), the trip just never materialized. Until now, that is.
I've written before about how I straddle 2 cultures: American and south Asian. Well, a little less than a month ago, those 2 cultures collided. Yup, you read that right: collided.
You see, earlier this month, my saas, nand, nand-dui, and their son (our nephew) came to visit and they've been staying with us ever since. It's almost the whole entourage...the only people missing are my daiwar and daiwar-ani.
I've been super busy since before they arrived and even more busy after that. There are so many things to show them, and we're having a lot of fun just spending time together.
So...that's what I've been busy with. (Hopefully more on that later...when I get more free time.) How have all of you been spending your summer so far...?
I'm new to your interesting blog. I hope they are having a good time. Please post pictures if you have a chance.
